Grenadiers gobble up competition

The IUS women’s basketball team swept the IU Southeast Thanksgiving Tournament for women’s basketball on Nov. 16-17. The Grenadiers broke national and conference records in the first game against St. Mary-of-the-Woods, and went on to defeat Mid-Continent University to win the tournament. This was the first women’s basketball tournament hosted by IU Southeast in three years.

The IUS men’s basketball team defeated Mid-Continent University in their fifth game of the season on Nov. 17. The narrow victory brought their record to 3-2. Tyrell Means, sophomore guard, scored 14 points for the Grenadiers. “I feel like I did what was needed,” Means said. “I played a lot harder than I usually do. I’m glad I could help the team.”

Grenadiers overwhelm Mid-Continent University

The IUS men’s basketball team won their game against Mid-Continent University, 106-88, during the fifth annual Joe. B. Hall and Denny Crum Classic in the Activities Building on Nov. 4. This was the first win of the season for the Grenadiers, as they lost their season opener to Georgetown University, 100-92. “It’s big for our guys,” Wiley Brown, IUS men’s basketball head coach, said about his team’s first victory.
