Tigers caged by Grenadiers in rematch

The Grenadiers hosted the Campbellsville Tigers on Oct. 11. The game was close during all five sets. When the Tigers and Grenadiers met at the beginning of the season, IU Southeast fell to Campbellsville in fair sets. The Grenadiers previously played the Tigers on Aug. 28, where they were defeated 25-16, 23-25, 25-15, 25-19. Going into the rematch, Sara Schum, sophomore middle blocker, said the team was more prepared to face off against the Tigers.

Grenadiers take knee, Knights conquer courts

The IUS women’s tennis team hosted the Bellarmine Knights on Sept. 30. The Grenadiers first faced the Knights at the DePauw Invitational earlier this season. Rebecca Porter, Bellarmine women’s tennis assistant head coach, said they normally do pretty well when facing IU Southeast.

Asbury Eagles swoop down on Grenadiers

The IUS women’s basketball team lost to Asbury on Jan. 26 with a final score of 76-73. The game was packed with hard fouls, scrums on the floor for loose balls and a double technical foul. The opening tip went to the Eagles as they pushed it up and down the floor for several early baskets.

Grenadiers shoot for high hoops

The IUS women’s basketball scrimmage against the Campbellsville University Tigers exhibited the Grenadiers strengths and weaknesses on the court. The Tigers defeated the Grenadiers in the first half, 29-45, while the second half ended with an even 40-all tie. The Grenadiers lacked defense in the beginning of the first half and gave the Tigers easy shots and rebounds. Ashmere Woods, returning junior guard and last season’s leading scorer, helped dig the Grenadiers out of their rut to bring up the score.
