Grenadiers smash Eagles

The IUS volleyball team played the Cincinnati Christian University Eagles on Oct. 23. This is their second time playing the Eagles this season. In the match-up earlier this season, the Grenadiers fell in four sets. The first set started with Stephanie Bradshaw, sophomore defense specialist, serving the ball. The score in the first set stayed pretty close by a difference of about three points. The Eagles called two timeouts during this match. Jade Troutman, junior middle backer, blocked two hits during this match. Then, Coral Maybrier, freshman outside hitter, served out the set, causing the Eagles to fall 25-15.

Students poured into the bleachers for a scrimmage game on Oct. 24 to get a glimpse of what to expect from the IUS women’s basketball team this season. The Lady Grenadiers played Vincennes University in a scrimmage game that was scored in two separate games. IUS women’s basketball head coach Robin Farris said he thought the team played outstanding because of their defense and communication.
