Lease deadlines coming soon

Students who moved into a residence hall last semester must re-sign their leases by August. For academic year leases, the deadline to guarantee you stay in the apartment you currently occupy was Sunday, March 1. The deadline to re-sign a 12-month lease is the third week of August.

SGA elections this week

The Student Government Association elections will be held all through this week. The senate meeting on March 12 started 20 minutes late because there weren’t enough senators present to have a quorum. There are 16 senators in SGA and 11 needed to be in attendance to have a quorum. The SGA has to have a quorum to be able to vote on legislation. Members not in attendance had to be phoned and told their presence was needed.

Students seek argument resolution

Students involved in a verbal altercation on the way back from a university-sponsored trip on Feb. 17 said they were disappointed with IU Southeast’s approach to resolving the conflict.

Scholarship money raised

More than $1,000 in ticket sales and donations was collected Tuesday, March 3, at the IUS International Festival to support overseas study scholarships.

SGA elections start next week

Student Government Association will give away pizza on Tuesday, March 17, and Thursday, March 19, at noon in the hallway in front of the bookstore for all students that vote in the election.
