Coordinator has high hopes for intramurals

The IUS Intramural Program has been growing since June 2006 when Perry Brown, coordinator for the intramurals and the Fitness Center, was hired. With Brown being the first full-time fitness and intramural coordinator for IU Southeast, he is able to host competitions among students, faculty and staff, including basketball, flag football, soccer, softball, wiffleball, dodgeball, volleyball, tennis, golf and cornhole. Born and raised in Arlington, Ky., Brown grew up with his twin brother.

Editor experiences high out of higher education

IUS Fitness Center shapes up

The Fitness Center at IU Southeast is no longer full of outdated and broken equipment, but, instead a brand new lineup of fitness equipment. In August, the Athletic Department purchased brand new cardiovascular and free weight equipment. The Athletic Department went to the Student Life Committee and asked for new fitness equipment. Their request was approved, and they were granted $75,000 from the Student Activity Fees.

Fitness center open to all
