IU Southeast welcomed students and faculty to an afternoon of food, fun and networking at the first Student Veterans Family Picnic. Held at the shelter adjacent to the IUS Lake, the picnic was a way for the campus to help make the transition from military life to the classroom easier for student veterans. Jack Howell, IUS Veterans Affairs certifying official, assists student veterans with their benefits and is aware of the challenges they face with education, whether it be enrollment or dealing with their GI Bill of Rights.
