Big Ben faces sex scandal

IUS Horizon March 14, 2010
No professional athlete should have problems with the ladies. For some reason, this does not seem to be the case for Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Hotter than a sex scandal

IUS Horizon March 14, 2010
Newspaper fans, trash cans full of water bottles and that lingering body-odor smell from hundreds of sweaty bodies can only add up to one thing. Overly hot buildings on campus.

Colophon, part 3

1. Jimmy John’s. 2. Thin Mint cookies. 3. The Devil.

Size does matter

IUS Horizon March 7, 2010
Screaming fans and Super bowl parties — that’s never been my thing. Sure, I’ll attempt to play sports for fun, but I really have no interest in them.

Writing social commentary about something funny is a lot harder than it looks. Columns don’t write themselves.

IUS Horizon February 21, 2010
Capturing the moods, the moments or random things placed before your eyes can inspire interesting topics. Whenever I have idle time during the semester, I make a conscience effort to sit on campus to get to know folks or “people watch.”

You totally know what I mean

IUS Horizon February 14, 2010
So, like, I totally have noticed something about, like, how people talk. You know? It’s like they really don’t know what they’re, like, talking about. Or, like, using questions at the end of the sentence, you know what I mean? These questions which lead others onto our own path of uncertainty, you know?

Amend to amend

Former editor Jerod Clapp used to complain that the Student Government Association did nothing. I’m not Jerod, but I’d like to take this opportunity to encourage them to keep doing nothing on a particular subject. In the SGA story that ran in the Feb. 8 edition of The Horizon, Matthew Chinn wrote that the SGA passed a bill to combine the two elections they are scheduled to have this year.
